I haven’t heard of "Ole" English Bulldog before so i was just wonder what the difference between them are.
the "olde" english bulldog has more wrinkles… believe it or not, it is actually a newer breed than the regular "bulldog"!
the original bulldogs didn’t have a whole lot of wrinkles, and they weren’t particularly brachiocephalactic (spelling?) they were rather short, stocky dogs, who had large heads and jaws, and were VERY game. the wrinkles and bowed legs were bred into them mostly after they were no longer used for sports like bull baiting.

I have always wanted an English bulldog and finally my fiance and I have decided to get one. I understand that bulldogs have lots of health issues but I was wondering if there were any signs to look for before purchasing a puppy.
I don’t have an English Bulldog, but my best friend has had three. My advice would be to check out the breeder, check out the facitilities, are the dogs nice and clean? All the dogs should appear lovable and very sociable. Take a look at the parents, ask to see the pups parents health certificates and vet records, ask or the vets number and give him a call. (Any reputable breeder, despite the dog breed should have NO problem giving you this info.) Also, a good breeder will give you 24-72 hours to get the pup checked out at your own vet and if there are any expensive or life threatening conditions, a good breeder will offer to pay for them, OR replace the puppy. Hope this helps, and good luck with the puppy search! English Bullies are some of the sweetest and most adorable dogs. (other tha APBT’s that is. lol!)

My wife and I have a 2 year old cat and we are planning on getting a new English Bulldog puppy. Will the animals get along? Is there anything we should be concerned about?
They might not get along right away. But give it time and soon they will learn to live with each other.
I have a Yellow Lab, 4 years old, and a cat. At first they were shy and scared of each other, then after a month or so they even slept in the same room together.

Teddy the English bulldog was sound asleep. It was time to go to work but nothing, and I mean nothing would get this sleepy boy up. There is one thing that is able to get this beast up faster than you can say English Bulldog. Take a look.

I just got a English Bulldog puppy and I don’t know how to raise it ? I have gone to quite a lot of websites about it and each one says something different? The puppy is only 3 months old, weights 20 lbs. and lives inside of the house.
Go with the advice given by the puppy’s breeder, as they know their line of dogs better than anyone, and if you trusted them enough to buy a pup, you’ll probably trust them enough to follow their advice.
If you bought the dog from another source, than unfortunately you won’t have access to such a valuable resource. Having a breeder as a friend and adviser is the best way to go, especially for a first time dog owner. However, if you look in your area, you may be able to find a bulldog breeder who will be able to advise you of what you need to know.
From the information you have given me, my only piece of advice is this: don’t let your puppy get overweight. At 3 months, they are still really growing and it is not good to put extra weight on a developing body. If you are unsure to tell if your puppy is too fat, have your vet fill you in.
Best of Luck!

The bulldog was first given it’s name in 1567 by England residents. The English Bulldog was originally breed and used for bull baiting.
Bull baiting was a form of entertainment in England. The English Bulldog would bite a ring that was hooked to a bull’s nose and try to suffocate the bull. Bull baiting was deemed a barbaric sport and was banned in 1835. The English Bulldog was then breed to be a family pet and a show dog.
English Bulldog’s are know to be be short in stature but very stocky. Another well know characteristic of an English Bulldog is it’s very wrinkly face. The English Bulldog comes in a variety of coat colors from white to brindle.
A mature English Bulldog male and female weighs from 55 – 80 pounds and is 12 – 16 inches long.
English Bulldogs are great family pets and get along with children very well. They have no problem being around other pets or environments where there may be a crowd of people. Unlike some other bull breed dogs the English Bulldog is a very playful and charismatic dog.
The English bulldog can not take extended periods of time in the heat. English Bulldog’s can easily overheat and which will cause fatigue. Due to problematic health issues it prefers cooler climates which makes it a necessity to be an inside dog.
English Bulldogs tend to breathe and snore very heavily and this is a trait you will need to grow accustom to. Along with the snoring English Bulldogs pass gas and some can be prone to drool.
You will need exercise the English Bulldog to maintain a healthy lifestyle. If it does not receive regular exercise English Bulldogs will gain weight which in turn could lead to serious health problems. A healthy Bulldog will live about 10 – 11 happy years.
English Bulldogs suffer from several health issues that may need to be addressed. Two health problems that English Bulldogs are prone to is hip dysplasia and elongated soft palate.
Hip dysplasia is a genetic flaw that is caused from abnormal hip joint development when a puppy. This will cause the Bulldog to walk stiff or almost look like it is bunny hopping when trying to walk. Hip dysplasia can be corrected through a surgical operation that can be expensive.
When a Bulldog has an elongated soft palate this will cause stressed breathing. The palate can be corrected by surgery and should be an easy fix if detected early. This is generally an easy fix and is not to expensive when compared to the corrective surgery for hip dysplasia.
One last area that will need attention is the folds on the English Bulldogs face. These folds need to be regularly cleaned and checked for any hot spots or sores. They tend to get filled with dirt and anything else the Bulldog rubs it’s face in.
An English Bulldog is a wonderful pet and will bring you many years of happiness if well cared for. I would not recommend a Bulldog for a first time pet owner unless you are ready for the responsibility or a medium – high maintenance pet.

I am very much interested in a miniature bulldog but can’t find a price anywhere.
The Miniature Bulldog is Bulldog mixed with Pug and French Bulldog.
The ones I have seen range from $2,800 to $3,600

The French bulldog is so adorable, and much easier to find a good breeder, as it is a *real* breed. Check this out>

I am interested in purchasing an english bulldog and it seems that everyone is trying to convince me otherwise. I have heard of the heath problems, how bad are they?
English bulldogs are very loving yet slightly difficult breeds. You must wipe thir skin folds clean and check nasal passageways. They also snore. BUT, they are big cuddle bugs and love their families. Honestly, if you would like an expert opinion, call a local but respected breeder and ask them questions. You could even visit them to see if its the right breed for you. If so, you could adopt from there or elsewhere. If not try this.

Hope this helps
