What do you think of this breed… No stupid comments, only people who have owned a Rottweiler. Also I wanted to add how does a PROPERLY TRAINED rotty act when going for a walk or being around unknown people ??
yeah cause it was either that or a doberman, but i heard that rotty’s shed alot so iunno.
Well a dog is a dog. yeah they have different attitudes and such but i’m not getting a "smaller dog" just cause its my first dog. Iam not taking it to any training class what a waste of money, i’ll just spend alot of time & effort training it at home, my question wasnt if you took your rottweiler to get trained or not…
My fiancee has a rottweiler and I have lived with him
On walks he does not try to attack cats or people. He loves everything. He is the sweetest dog I know and wouldn’t hurt a fly.
He isn’t really trained either.

I have a 10mos. old English Bulldog and he has developed a moist skin irritation and/or minor yeast infection in the facial fold under one of his eyes. This problem is quite common among the breed. I wanted to find out if anyone knows what type of ointment or solution can temporarily be used to treat it until I take him to the vet next weekend? Thanks for your opinions.
Peace on Earth has already given you the correct answer:
as a groomer this is the response I have been trained to give many owners with this same question,
"English bulldogs are prone to developing yeast infections within the folds of their face, for this reason owners should prevent the bacteria build-up by wiping out the folds via the use of a warm, damp cloth daily. When signs of an irritation or possible infection occur, continue to clean the folds out in the same manner so long as it does not cause the dog any obvious discomfort, and of course speak to your vet about these types of concerns as soon as they arrive to avoid any major skin irritation."
You are a step above most of the owners I’ve already spoken to about this as you already are aware that this is a common problem and you know to take your dog to the vet for it. Many owners I’ve known will wait until the skin within the folds of their dog’s face will be completely raw and infected, then the owner brings the dog to the groomer to be cleaned expecting that the smell from between the folds will magically vanish after a bath, of course by this point the groomer can only refer the owner to a vet because the skin irritation has become a major medical problem.
Good on you for researching your dog’s specific care requirements and loving him enough to seek proper medical care, you are a step above many others on this forum!

I haven’t heard of "Ole" English Bulldog before so i was just wonder what the difference between them are.
the "olde" english bulldog has more wrinkles… believe it or not, it is actually a newer breed than the regular "bulldog"!
the original bulldogs didn’t have a whole lot of wrinkles, and they weren’t particularly brachiocephalactic (spelling?) they were rather short, stocky dogs, who had large heads and jaws, and were VERY game. the wrinkles and bowed legs were bred into them mostly after they were no longer used for sports like bull baiting.

We are the 3rd. owner of this chihuahua and for the most part he is house broken, but sometimes when we’re not looking he will pee or poop in the other room. when we put him outside in a kennel for the night he won’t go until he is let out……He is a male, not neutered. He is a breeding dog. But in order to keep him we need to brake him og his bad habbit. Help if you know please.
When you’re home and he’s not kenneled, you should keep him with you. Don’t allow him in the other room by himself. Being the third home, it’s possible that his bad habits were the result of housebreaking not being reinforced in his previous home. Create a schedule. Kennel at night, potty in the morning, potty every two hours out of the kennel and don’t let him go off by himself.
Small dogs are often more difficult to house break and the more intelligent and willful the dog, the more difficult it is. Chihuahua can be difficult to train in general. Consider puppy class or doggy good-citizen classes to establish the relationship between you and the dog.
I understand that many people get these dogs as investments hoping to make money on stud fees and/or litter sales. I hope that you will be a responsible breeder culling for defects and breeding for temper in addition to breed standard.

Ok my chihuahua just have puppies and we are wondering when the eyes will open and walking around.
Ahh bless – little weeny ones – lovely! Congratulations firstly, how proud are you ha ha? Their eyes will start to open in about 7 – 10 days, maybe longer as they’re all different. The eyes will start to open from the inner side first, near the nose so they’ll look a bit strange until the eye is fully open. All pup’s eyes are dark blue when they first open and its so attractive you want them to stay that way ha ha but they change again in a few months! Their ears are closed as well so they’re deaf for the moment – they open around the same time as the eyes so all your cooing etc has gone to waste ha ha. They’ll find their feet when they’re around ten – twelve days, you’ll notice that they can move around a little more quickly and once they really find their feet there’ll be no stopping them ha ha, that’ll happen at around two and half weeks – by three weeks you’ll be tearing your hair out – you’ll wake up and the little souls will be all over the place crying for mum to bring them back ha ha, its a really lovely time for all involved, enjoy it because it passes far too quickly! Best of luck with everything, congratulations again, new life is so lovely.
